Durga Puja is the biggest festival of Bengal. This five-day-long colourful Hindu festival witnesses intense celebration across the state. The Rath Yatra festival is also widely celebrated here. Images of Jagannath are set upon a chariot and pulled through the streets.

Cuisine Of West Bengal
Rice and fish are traditional Bengali foods, but most of the people also consume egg, chicken, mutton and shrimps. There are several fish-based dishes which are relished by people such as hilsa. It is eaten with mustard sauce. Sweets are also greatly enjoyed by Bengalis, especially at social ceremonies. Patisapta – A kind of Pitha, is a popular sweet dish in West Bengal consumed during winters. Roshogolla, Chomchom, Kalojam and several kinds of sondesh are also available in different states. Popular street food includes Aloor Chop, Beguni, Kati roll, biryani and phuchka.
